Unhappy 2nd birthday for Hong Kong Disneyland
As second birthday parties go, it was a rather sombre affair. Faced with disappointing attendance figures and strained labour relations, executives at Hong Kong Disneyland were probably not in the mood to celebrate the park's anniversary Wednesday. Modest commemorative gifts were handed out to guests and some special treats laid on for staff but there was none of the pizzazz and ferocious optimism that marked the spectacular opening of the 3.5 billion US dollar park on September 12, 2005.
