Disney World: There’s still time to ride this version of Star Tours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Despite what you might have heard, Star Tours isn’t shut down — yet. Yes, yes, there was a “shutdown ceremony” last week during the after-hours Last Tour to Endor event (held in conjunction with Star Wars Celebration V) at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but let’s just say that was pretend — dramatic license with pyrotechnics. Disney’s Fantillusion night parade at Disneyland Resort Paris. December 2007. Formerly performed at Tokyo Disneyland , the parade was created in 1995 specifically for Tokyo Disneyland, it was developed by the team behind Fantasmic!, the show performed at Disneyland in Anaheim and the Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, with the aim of condensing the story of Fantasmic! and putting it into a parade format.
On June 27, 2009, the Walt Disney Company opened the doors of its normally-off-limits archives to a small, lucky group of people who belong to the official Disney fan community, which is called D23 (in honor of the year 1923, when a young and ambitious Walt Disney moved to Hollywood to begin his storied career.)
