It's been a crummy 24 hours for the Hong Kong tourism industry. The first piece of bad news: China has given the green light to Disney to build a theme park in Shanghai. The $3.5 billion Chinese facility will sprawl across about 1,000 acres which will dwarf Hong Kong Disneyland's 296 acre lot. Mainland Chinese account for more than one third of the visitors to Hong Kong Disneyland, and once the Magic Kingdom sets up in the Middle Kingdom much of that business will get cannibalized. Hong Kong legislator Emily Lau, a long-time critic of Hong Kong Disneyland in which the government has invested billions, called the news a "devastating blow."

Call it Faux-bama. Or perhaps Robobama. After a long renovation, the Hall of Presidents at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom reopens this Saturday, July 4, and inside is a new guest: an Audio-Animatronic version of President Barack Obama.

Starting the end of May, Disney Channel has launched its summer program called "Summer of Stars" which second promo has just arrived. It presents more of the Mouse House's teen stars such as Miley Cyrus, Brenda Song, Mitchel Musso, as well as twins Cole Sprouse and Dylan Sprouse, introducing what's coming in the next few months.

This fall, the long awaited and much anticipated Bay Lake Tower, the newest member of the Disney Vacation Club family will open to the public and end a series of major Disney Vacation Club expansion efforts for the year starting with Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.
